Discovering Russia welcomes the opportunity to assist non-profit groups, such
as patrons of the arts, university alumni and festivals, with their
travel plans. We know both the strong points and problem areas of
Discovering Russia, so your people will walk away with a
sense of adventure and mastery, which will in turn make them more
enthusiastic supporters of your institution.
We can also discuss an arrangement whereby your institution can
profit directly from a travel program created by Discovering
Russia. If you already have a travel provider, we would be happy
to work with them and with you in order to offer your people the
best possible service and support.
Patron Travel:
With all the cross-cultural exchanges that have been going on for
years between Russian and Western institutions, there are many groups—museums,
orchestras, opera companies, Western Friends' groups—that want
to offer their supporters travel to Russia that will show them not
only the typical tourist sights but also the more specialized attractions
that draw such patrons' interest.
Often there will be a specific focus on a particular institution
or event, but for your patrons to be Discovering Russia there
needs to be a well-rounded program which we can put together for
you.
It is easy to plan a group trip around a particular event, such
as the White Nights Festival, the International Ballet Festival,
Tchaikovsky Competition, the Golden Mask Festival, or a museum opening.
In addition, we can assist individual patrons who approach your
organization and want a more intimate trip or cannot travel at the
same time as the group, or who want to extend their journey of Discovering
Russia by visiting areas that are not part of the main trip.
Alumni/Affinity Travel:
We can work create a travel program that will continue your school's
tradition of excellence, so that your alumni can be Discovering
Russia and continue to learn. Such program can be created around
a particular activity that your school sponsors, such as a film
festival, museum exhibition, or continuing education program. In
addition, we can work with academics from your institution who will
both enhance the learning environment as well as development of
goodwill towards your school.
Festivals:
There are dozens of world-class music, ballet, art, and other cultural
festivals and events in Russia every year. Discovering Russia
welcomes the opportunity to create a travel program around such
events in connection with the festival organizers in order to increase
the participation by Westerners. In addition to the standard travel
services that we offer, we can make the trip special for everyone
by arranging lectures, tours and dinners with the lead participants.
Depending on your requirements, we can handle the entire trip or
portions of your journey, including:
 Creation of Brochures, Web Site, Marketing
Materials and Reading Lists, in connection with your marketing department, advisors and
our sister company, Waterfall Group;
Mailing of Brochures to Potential Attendees
and Registration of Attendees, to ease the burden on your own staff;
Visa arrangements, from issuing your invitation, obtain
the visa, and registering the visa;
Air transportation, taking into account your comfort
and convenience, as well as special pricing or other incentives.
We recognize that many people use frequent flyer miles on leisure
trips, and we are happy to make the most of any such incentives;
Hotels or other accommodations, depending on your activities, budget
and length of stay;
Transfers and local transportation
during your stay,
in order to maximize your comfort, convenience and safety;
A Grand Ball, that everyone will remember, straight
out of a Tolstoy novel;
Dinners, Tours, Lectures and Home visits,
with
the Russians involved in putting together these wonderful cultural
events, not only in grand, formal venues but also in more intimate
settings;

Individual leisure activities. Recognizing that people need their
personal time and space, we can assist individuals traveling with
the group by providing guide services during scheduled free time

and pursuing their own interests, but with the convenience of a
